Welcome to Focused Foundations.

Our Mission: At Focused Foundations Pediatric Therapy, we believe strong skills grow from strong foundations. Our mission is to support the development of the central nervous system through sensory integration, reflex integration, and motor planning - so children have the underlying building blocks they need to navigate life. We are proudly neurodivergent-affirming, child-led, and focused on helping every child thrive as they are.

We look forward to partnering with you and your child. Schedule your consultation today to get started!

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy helps children develop the skills they need for full participation through purposeful and meaningful activities. Our OTs are trained to assess and treat a variety of skills at each stage of development to ensure optimal success in activities of daily living.  We focus on strengthening fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, attention, and emotional regulation through sessions thoughtfully designed around your child’s interests, developmental stage, and unique strengths.

Sensory Integration

Sensory integration is the process in which our brain takes in, interprets, and organizes sensory information to make an appropriate motor or emotional response. Sensory integration dysfunction occurs when the information is not perceived or organized into an appropriate response. OTs support regulation, coordination, attention, and motor planning through play-based, engaging activities that are individualized to help children feel more confident and successful at home, school, and in their daily routines.

Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy supports children in developing the skills and confidence needed for safe, successful eating. Using play-based and sensory-informed approaches, we address challenges such as picky eating, oral motor skills, texture aversions, and mealtime routines. Therapy is individualized to promote positive experiences with food and greater independence at home and in daily life.

Specialized Programs & Modalities

1

SOS Feeding Therapy

SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Feeding Therapy is an evidence-based approach used to support children with feeding difficulties. It focuses on increasing comfort with foods through play-based, sensory strategies that build skills for tasting, eating, and enjoying a wider variety of foods in a positive, low-pressure way.

2

Astronaut Training

Astronaut Training is a sensory integration program used to support balance, coordination, and self-regulation. It uses targeted vestibular and visual activities to help improve attention, body awareness, and postural control for better participation in daily activities.

3

Reflex Integration

Reflex Integration supports the development and maturation of primitive reflexes through targeted movement activities. Activities improve coordination, balance, attention, emotional regulation, and overall functional performance in daily life.

4

Handwriting Without Tears

Handwriting Without Tears® is a multisensory, developmentally appropriate program used to build strong handwriting skills by supporting letter formation, fine motor control, and writing.

5

Deep Pressure Proprioceptive Technique

DPPT is a brushing technique using tactile and proprioceptive (deep pressure input) to help the brain organize sensory input.

6

Zones of Regulation

The Zones of Regulation® is a structured, evidence-based approach to help with recognizing emotions, managing sensory needs, and building self-regulation skills.

7

Talk Tools

TalkTools is a tactile–kinesthetic approach that helps children develop the jaw, lip, and tongue movements needed for clearer speech and safe feeding. Using specialized tools and structured exercises, we support improved strength, coordination, and motor planning as part of a comprehensive, play-based therapy program tailored to each child’s needs.

8

Therapeutic Listening

Therapeutic Listening is a sound-based intervention designed to support sensory processing, attention, emotional regulation, and motor skills. Through specially filtered music delivered via headphones as part of a structured program, this approach helps improve nervous system regulation and overall participation in daily activities at home, school, and in the community.
